HAQ PROGRAM

Haq is an Urdu word, which means “Right”. Under this program Pak Women is working for good governance, strengthening local governments, protection and promotion of rights of women (basic human rights, land rights, protection from VAW and
GBV), children and persons with disabilities (PWDs), minorities, youth and transgender rights promotion and protection. Transparency, and accountability through citizen engagement in pro-women, children and persons with disabilities reforms, legislation, planning, gender responsive budgeting and strengthening citizen voice on evidence and sustainable basis.
Pak Women has various operational networks which are working all over Pakistan to achieve its vision. Gender Equality Network (GEN) consists of over 250 women leaders who conduct eld-level assessments on the situation of women for Pak Women and
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Women Parliamentary Caucus. Himmat Network comprises over 53 Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) working on research and sharing evidences with key stakeholders for policy reforms and legislation. Inclusive Network for Electoral Education and Democracy (INEED) incorporates over 450 CBOs from all over Pakistan as members working to enhance voters’ education and to increase voters’ turnout by mainstreaming women, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized groups into the electoral process, economic and social development.

Pak Women Haq program is in line with The Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, relevant national laws, United Nations Instruments UDHR, CEDAW, CRC, UNCRPD and ICCPR.

Pak Women Haq Program work is contributing to the following United Nations
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
